Liverpool is currently making some excellent moves in the transfer market. Any player who even has a remote chance of leaving this summer is largely on the club’s radar. The club has responded favorably to the criticism and has acknowledged that a fresh group of players is desperately required.

Midfielders, defenders, and strikers are all being pursued in the same way. The Reds’ message is quite clear: they demand an immediate, comprehensive makeover.

Liverpool’s interest in Jude Bellingham is well known, but due to the player’s popularity and the club’s high possibilities of missing out on him, alternatives are also being considered.

Several players have been identified as potential targets if Bellingham’s plan fails. According to rumors, a new name has been added to the list as the club expands its choices in the given scenario.

Defensive midfielder from Benfica has caught Liverpool’s attention

According to Neil Jones from GOAL, Portuguese midfielder Florentino Luis, who has previously been on the radar of Liverpool scouts in recent weeks, has piqued the interest of the Merseyside club after impressing at Benfica.

Having featured in every game this season under manager Roger Schmidt, the player is predicted to be among the finest and most reliable for the Portuguese club. Several clubs in Europe, notably Liverpool and Arsenal, have expressed interest in the youngster.

Luis, at the age of 23, already has some impressive stats as a defensive midfielder. According to GOAL, the player has made more interceptions in the Champions League group stage than any other player and averages more defensive actions in the opposing half per 90 minutes than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues.

Former managers and players lavish praise on Luis, describing him as a flexible midfielder capable of playing in a variety of positions with ease and physical power.

After the abrupt fall of captain Jordan Henderson, Liverpool has struggled to sustain quality in the defensive midfield position. Stefan Bajcetic, a teenager who has already begun to yield fruit, has now taken over the role.

But if depth is what’s lacking, bringing in Luis from Benfica shouldn’t be a terrible idea. His arrival will breathe new life into the position, and healthy rivalry with his counterpart may provide better results for Liverpool.
