Another day, another rumor about a Liverpool transfer. Even after the window closed weeks ago, the headlines continue to flow. Although Liverpool’s January window may have been relatively dry, the summer window won’t come close to being the same.
The club is aware that the team’s current state begs for a makeover. Although the last game against Everton demonstrated a great deal of newness in both midfield and attack, the demand for new players remains. For another season, the team cannot rely on erratic performers.
Liverpool has been following a list of superstars to plan the overhaul, particularly midfielders and attackers. One such target, who the Reds were apparently interested in, has delivered bad news to their door, indicating that he may not be joining them anytime soon.
Liverpool’s French target is not available for a transfer this summer
Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani, who was being chased by both Liverpool and Manchester United for a potential transfer this summer, will not be moving this time, according to Fabrizio Romano on his CaughtOffside substack.
The 24-year-old excelled with his performance in Germany and at the World Cup with France, prompting the two English teams to pursue him for a move this summer. However, Romano’s comments have ruled out the chance of a switch.
Kolo Muani joined Frankfurt in March 2022 and has yet to play a full season for the club. According to Romano, individuals close to the club believe that the club wants to keep the Frenchman at least until June 2024 before considering a sale.
The journalist maintains that, while Frankfurt want to keep him until 2024, it will rely on the offers, as it usually does. He believes the player’s value might rise to between 80 and 90 million Euros.

Given the price, the key issue is whether Liverpool should persist on signing Kolo Muani this summer with a sizable offer. The player is a promising prospect, but he has yet to demonstrate consistency. Waiting until 2024 to review his progress and then deciding whether to pursue him appears to be a better choice.
