Liverpool’s season in general has been nothing short of a disaster, as we all know. They find themselves out of two of the four competitions they play in. One they are not going to win, and another they have all their hopes on, but they face Real Madrid, the reigning champions of said competition.

But, things as of late have been looking good for the team. They’re not in form, but they’re not out of form, if that makes sense. It’s not been a lot of games, so I can’t exactly call them in form yet. Ever since their 3-0 loss to Wolves in the Premier League, we have seen two great performances from Liverpool.

One was against Everton, a 2-0 win which was a pretty good performance all around, and the other was a huge 2-0 win over Newcastle United, who are currently fifth in the Premier League table with a game in hand. That was huge, and the game they played, no one really expected Liverpool to play like that.

Now, Liverpool are seven points away from a top-four spot, although that could turn into nine if Newcastle win their game in hand. Be that as it may, it’s a good run of form, and if Liveprool win their two games in hand, they are looking at, at most, a three-point deficit from the much-wanted top-four finish. These two wins were huge.

But, looking out of the Premier League, in the general context of the form and the time at which it has arrived, is also very good. Liverpool face Real Madrid next, and they will surely feel better about their chances after these two games. It’s not just that it’s been two wins. It’s that it’s been two big wins and two great performances from Liverpool players.

We have seen Bajcetic play incredibly well as an eight. We saw Cody Gakpo finally score his first Liverpool goal, and in the very next game he scored another. We also saw Darwin Nunez score a good goal.

Yes, Nunez is a doubt for the game against Real Madrid, I really hope he plays but there are things to feel good about this Liverpool team. I haven’t said that in a while.
