Liverpool are in dire need of a midfielder. Well, not just one, they are in dire need of multiple midfielders. Signing Bellingham is fantastic but it’s not all that they need. They need more. They need more support from their owners, and they need to act quickly so that they are able to sign the players they want, and not see themselves get beaten the way they got beaten for Aurelien Tchouameni last season.

There are a number of midfielders that have been on their radar as of late, and there will continue to be more players that will eventually start making more and more sense.

There is one player, a Premier League midfielder whose contract expires in six months, and has yet to sign a deal with his current club

Youri Tielemans has been a great Premier League midfielder for a few years. Leicester have had a very weird season, which is why I don’t see him renewing with the Foxes. I really think he considers himself a great player. A player who should be playing for one of the top European teams. And, Liverpool should consider him that as well.

Tielemans has an underrated defensive presence, that no one talks about for some reason. He’s been good for Leicester even though Leicester themselves have had a rocky season so far.

His passing, and deep-lying playmaking are really good. Tielemans is very nice on the ball and can dribble past players rather quickly.

I do not know if he starts for Liverpool, though. I mean, it is tough unless they move on from Thiago or another midfielder, but it’s not impossible. Tielemans would work for Liverpool. He’s a decent presser, and has age on his side.

It’s not the perfect option, obviously, Tielemans has his drawbacks, but they can be worked on, and I don’t see why he shouldn’t be considered as a legitimate candidate for a potential move, especially when he’d become a free agent.
