Liverpool have had a rough few days. Well, a rough few weeks. Actually, a rough few months is probably a better indication. Ever since the season started, it has been weird for Liverpool. Unfortunately, it keeps on going.

Liverpool lost 5-2 to Real Madrid. Lost is a really easy term to put here. They got demolished. To say that they simply lost to Real is the understatement of the year.

Then, they were to face Crystal Palace away from home. They didn’t win that game, either. They played out a 0-0 stalemate, and now are facing an even bigger uphill task of qualifying for the Champions League next season, because they need funds to make the signings they want to make, and Champions League qualification will help in that sense.

But there was set to be another motive to qualifying for the Champions League, and that was to make star players look at Liverpool as an attractive option to join in the summer, when they start their partial rebuild.

Well, at least for one player, that is not a necessity anymore.

According to a report from Christian Falk, a reputed German source, Bellingham does not mind not playing in the Champions League. I mean, he would prefer it, but it won’t be a deal breaker for the English superstar.

That is because he sees Liverpool as a team he can really help get back to the top, and he’d have an important role there, because, honestly, the club needs him. The club needs him far more than he needs the club, and that is a fact.

If a player as good as Bellingham is willing to sacrifice Champions League football to play for Liverpool, it means a lot. It must mean a lot.

Bellingham is a superstar at this age, and if he is willing to not play for Real Madrid, or Manchester City to play for a mess of a team in Liverpool, the club must do everything in its power to ensure he arrives.
