Losers

1. Diogo Jota

The Portuguese striker has had a difficult season with little niggles here and there and some inconsistencies in the lineup, but when given the chance has rarely managed to solidify himself as the striker for Liverpool this season and for the future.

It was another disappointing performance from Diogo, where he touched the ball once in the West Ham box, didn’t register a shot and failed the one dribble he attempted.

There have been too many games like this from Diogo.

For the future of the striker position under Slot it looks more and more likely, one of the elite on the market will be looked at.

2. Harvey Elliott

A player who has had a rough season when it comes to game time. Harvey has played in 22 games in all competitions and has only started four of them.

Sunday was another match where Elliott did not even get on the pitch. In the Premier League he has been given just 156 minutes, a number very few people would be happy with and a number no player can make a substantial impact.

His cameos against Newcastle in the cup final, PSG away in the Champions League, where he scored the winner and Fulham in the league all showed signs that if given more time in the starting XI Harvey may be able to make a greater impact than some others.

The fact that this has been the story of his season, maybe tells us fans that Slot does not rate Harvey’s abilities and another sign that Slot doesn’t have full faith in his squad yet.

3. Federico Chiesa

Another player who has struggled to get the minutes some of his limited appearances deserve.

Chiesa has made fewer appearances than Elliott in all competitions and has a meagre 33 minutes played in the league.

Chiesa also impressed in his substitute cameo versus Newcastle in the cup final with the consolation goal.

Especially in the last few weeks, LFC fans have called for Chiesa to get more minutes with a drop off in form from Jota, Diaz and an injured Cody Gakpo.

His minutes have been very limited and like Elliott, he did not feature in Sunday’s game, it begs the question what is it Slot doesn’t appreciate about these two, in particular Chiesa considering he is Slot’s only signing so far. Will either player be around past the summer?
