It's the international break for top flight clubs around Europe and that means, no Liverpool games and boring international fixtures.

Former Liverpool and Cameroon defender Joel Matip has called it quits on his impressive career. The 33-year-old played for just 2 clubs in his career,

FC Schalke and Liverpool, winning the DFB Pokal and DFB Supercup in Germany before moving to Liverpool in 2016 as one of Jurgen Klopp's first signings.

He became a big fan favorite at LFC with his off-the-ball antics, classy defending and marauding dribbles through the opposition.

Injuries did trouble Joel throughout his time at the club but his partnership with Virgil van Dijk was always a highly regarded one and was a partnership that won the Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup.

Jarell Quansah Troubles

Young academy product, Jarell Quansah has had some great news recently with his new contract but has come under a lot of fire for his antics off the field.

During the week some photos were released appearing to show Jarell's messages with a girl, the problem being the age of the girl he messaged, she is just 17-years-old, a minor in the UK.

With Jarell being 20 years of age he is legally an adult and messaging a person, who is under age is extremely frowned upon.

With nothing said to have happened there are no major worries for Jarell in terms of legal proceedings, but a huge hit on the respect and ego he has created for himself with his footballing performances.

Virg and Mo Set to Return Early

According to Dutch outlet 'Telegraaf' Liverpool captain, Virgil van Dijk, has left the national team camp in the Netherlands early after the centre back was sent off in the Netherlands game against Hungary.

Virg was sent off after two yellow cards, the first of which coming after the Dutchman venting his frustrations about a foul on a teammate to the referee.

His second yellow was given to him after a late challenge. Surprisingly, for the usually calm and collected van Dijk, the two bookings came within just three minutes of each other. A disappointing turn of events for the club and country captain.

As for Mo Salah, there are some reports that he will be allowed to leave the Egyptian camp early after having played in Egypt's first game against Mauritania.

Egypt will be playing Mauritania once again on Tuesday, this time in Mauritania. Ismael Mahmoud has reported that Egypt head coach Hossam Hassan has allowed Mo to head back to Liverpool, due to the poor conditions that are expected in Mauritania.
