Last season, Liverpool actually lost three successive meetings with Crystal Palace, prior to a 3-1 victory when the pair last met in April. The Reds had been unbeaten in 12 visits to Selhurst, winning 11 of them, prior to defeat just over a year ago.

Crystal Palace vs Liverpool match preview
After a challenging week, can Liverpool get back to winning ways? Last Sunday, the Reds were beaten 1-0 by Arsenal at Anfield, falling behind inside the opening quarter of an hour, rarely threatening an equaliser thereafter.
Then, on Wednesday evening, having won their first three Champions League games, Andoni Iraola's team faltered in İstanbul, beaten 3-2 by Fenerbahçe. Despite leading twice at Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium, Trey Nyoni and Alexander Isak the scorers, the Reds departed Türkiye defeated, courtesy of Vedat Muriqi's late header.
Overall, Liverpool have made a strong start to this season. The Reds are sixth in the Premier League table, but a victory in South London could see them end the day as high as fourth. Nevertheless, Wednesday night was a reminder that this team is a work in progress, albeit they should still be too strong in South London.
As for Crystal Palace, their need for points is desperate, considering they are in the relegation zone. On Thursday, the Eagles salvaged a draw against Hoffenheim in the Europa League, courtesy of Daichi Kamada's stoppage time equaliser, this after Adam Wharton had been sent off.
Back in the Premier League, well their form has been horrendous. Pierre Sage's side have lost their last three matches, conceding nine goals and scoring zero, most-recently beaten by Tottenham; Jean-Philippe Mateta's 12th minute red card hardly helping their cause. Thus, with the international break looming, Sage is certainly a man under pressure.
Liverpool should be far too strong in South London, but you just never know in the Premier League.
Crystal Palace team news

Jean-Philippe Mateta's red card last weekend means he is suspended, so either Jørgen Strand Larsen or Eddie Nketiah, who snatched a stoppage time winner against Liverpool last season, will lead the line. Elsewhere, Ismaïla Sarr, who always scores against the Reds, won't be doing so again, as he is sidelined.
Liverpool team news
Ryan Gravenberch has missed the last two matches due to a heel injury and, having not been named in the Netherlands squad, this gives us an idea that he won't be available again. So, could teenager Trey Nyoni continue to deputise, or will Andoni Iraola ask Alexis Mac Allister to drop deeper, thereby accommodating fit again Dominik Szoboszlai.
Elsewhere, Ronald Araújo, Miloš Kerkez, Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak will return, having been on the bench in İstanbul, while Rio Ngumoha could get the nod over Cody Gakpo and Víctor Muñoz on the right.
Predicted Line-ups
- Crystal Palace predicted lineup: Henderson; Richards, Canvot, Disasi; Mingueza, Kamada, Wharton, Mitchell; McNeil, Yéremy, Strand Larsen.
- Liverpool predicted lineup: Alisson; Araújo, Jacquet, van Dijk, Kerkez; Mac Allister, Szoboszlai, Wirtz; Ngumoha, Isak, Barcola.
- Score prediction: Crystal Palace 1-3 Liverpool.
