With the Champions League draw now complete, it is fair to say that Andoni Iraola will be very happy with the outcome.
Let’s be honest, the UEFA computers were feeling extra kind to Liverpool! While other Pot 1 heavyweights got slapped with nightmare schedules, the Reds walked away with absolute gold dust in their quest for a top-eight spot.
As it is the highest level of competition, there is no easy game for Liverpool, but of the sides they could have drawn, this was the best-case scenario.
It’s time to break down the schedule and separate the 'easy' fixtures from the absolute nightmarish battles.

1. Lens
Liverpool host French side Lens at home, a team out of pot four, I think on paper this is the easiest fixture for Andoni Iraola's men.
Finishing six points behind Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain last year, On paper, this tie has all the makings of a potential banana skin for Liverpool.
However, with the clash being played under the Anfield lights, home advantage firmly edges this as the most favorable fixture on the Reds' European calendar.
It is always more difficult, especially in the Champions League, to go away from home and win. Which is why i feel there are some games which are a little bit more tricky. The Reds are also yet to face off with Lens, and their visit to Anfield will be a special occasion.
2. LASK
Founded in 1908, LASK will be competing in the Champions League for the first time in the clubs history. The Austrian side were involved in that dramatic comeback against Celtic in the playoffs, coming from 4-0 behind on aggregate to win 5-4.
That second leg being played at their home ground showed that the Raiffeisen Arena can be a tough place to visit as the away side.
That is exactly what the Reds will be doing, traveling as the visitors will make this a potential banana skin for Liverpool in their quest for the automatic spots. Fans will also remember the double-header against LASK in 23/24, when Liverpool were playing in the Europa League for the only time under Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds fell behind during their opening group stage match in Linz, but recovered to win 3-1, before comfortably beating the Austrians 4-0 at Anfield.
3. Club Brugge
The Belgian Pro League champions proved to be a tough team to visit in the Champions League last season, beating Marseille and AS Monaco while also earning 3-3 draws against Spanish giants Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
Their home form last season is what earnt them a spot in the qualifiers in the previous campaign, showing that they will be no push over when Liverpool are in town.
With a perfect start to their league season, Club Brugge will be high on belief that they can get something verses the six time winners.
If Liverpool have become used to playing the majority of their opponents in recent years, it has been a long, long time since they came up against Club Brugge.
The Reds have not faced the Belgian side since the 1978, when a goal from Kenny Dalglish won Liverpool their second European Cup at Wembley.
The two teams had met two years previously in the UEFA Cup semi-final, with a 1-1 draw in Brussels the most recent of the two matches.
4. Villarreal
Liverpool fans are experiencing a distinct sense of déjà vu, with the current campaign evoking memories of the historic 2021/22 season and a fresh matchup against Villarreal brings one of that year's defining European ties back into focus.
The two sides previously clashed in the Champions League semi-finals, where Jürgen Klopp’s Reds established a commanding lead with a dominant 2-0 victory at Anfield in the first leg. However, the return fixture in Spain proved far more nerve-shredding.
\Villarreal levelled the aggregate score with a blistering two-goal first-half fightback at El Madrigal, putting Liverpool on the back foot before half-time.
A decisive second-half turnaround restored order for the Reds.Strikes from Fabinho, Luis Díaz, and Sadio Mané secured a 3-2 victory on the night (5-2 on aggregate), extinguishing the Yellow Submarine's rally and punching Liverpool's ticket to the Paris final.
In this competition last year the Spanish side did not put up a good showing, one point from eight games is far from what they would have wanted. This time round, they will be hoping to improve on the point tally they put up last season.
Finishing third in LaLiga to qualify for the Champions League, demonstrates that there is a lot of quality in this squad.
With this matchup being played in Merseyside, you would expect that the Reds will get three points from this game.
5. FC Porto
Next up on this list, I have Portuguese giants Porto. After winning their domestic league last season with 88 points, the two-time Champions League winners will be looking to make their mark this year.
Competing in the Europa League last season, Porto got all the way to the quarter-finals before they lost to Nottingham Forrest.
It has now been almost five years since their last fixture against eachother, which also came during the 2021/22 group stage.
A side the Reds have played many times over recent years, Liverpool will fancy their chances to get another victory at Anfield this campaign.
Liverpool won the home game 2-0 – with Thiago Alcantara’s brilliant strike the most memorable moment from that match -while the Reds pummelled the Portuguese champions 5-1 at the Dragao. Porto have never won in eight tries against Liverpool, so a degree of revenge may be in store.
6. Fenerbache
Fenerbahçe away will prove to be an extremely hard game for Andoni Iraola, the Turkish side beat Lyon in the play-offs to qualify this year.
Their first time in the Champions League since 2008, Ismail Kartal will want his side to be very competitive.
Last season showed how hard of a place Turkey can be, with Liverpool loosing on both occasions they travelled to Galatasaray.
A game the Reds will have to approach with caution, because if you do not the crowd will suffocate the team and punish them.
Also they are the first of the eight clubs who Liverpool have never played against competitively before.
7. Atletico Madrid
The first side drawn out of pot one was Altetico Madrid, a repeat of the fixture last season, where Virgil Van Dijk netted a late winner in a 3-2 victory.
With this game being played at Anfield once more, it is slightly easier than the last fixture but by no means is this a straight forward match-up.
The Spanish side will make it a very physical tie, trying to capitalize on moments rather than taking the game to the home side.
Will not be easy whatsoever, but with the potential opponets the Reds could have faced, it is not that bad.
8. Inter Milan
The most difficult fixture from the draw was definitley Inter Milan away, the San Siro is one of the most legendary grounds in the world. Known for making an atmosphere no away teams wanrs to play in.
Just like Atletico Madrid, Liverpool did play in this exact same fixture last season and came out victorious. A late Dominik Szoboszlai penalty secured a 1-0 win for the Reds in a very tight game.
This game will see the return of Curtis Jones against his boyhood club, the local lad joining the Italian side in this transfer window.
