LFC Loan Report shows Bajčetić has mixed reviews and a defender thrives for Wigan

Several players are playing well on loan for Liverpool while others are struggling to find the desired consistency.

While on home soil we have been spoiled watching Arne Slot work his magic with the Liverpool first team to this point, it is sometimes easy to forget that the Reds have a host of young players playing all over the map on loan this season.

Some of these players are seizing the opportunity to grow and develop while others have failed to find firm footing in their new surroundings.

In this piece, I have rounded up some of the important names you might want to hear about that are currently plying their trade elsewhere for the time being.

Stefan Bajčetić - RB Salzburg

The young Spanish defensive midfielder is one of the most exciting young talents to have come through the ranks at Liverpool in a long time.

However, a series of debilitating injuries saw his momentum in the first team get cut short and he moved abroad to Austria in search of regular game time to try and regain the form he showed us a few years ago on his debut.

To this point, it has been a topsy-turvy experience as he has found himself in and out of Pep Lijnders lineup. His performances have left a little to be desired but there are still glimpses of the player we know.

4 of his 11 match appearances have come as a substitute for Salzburg. He is completing 85% of his passes this season with an even better 92% on medium length passes.

This passing range is good to see and is one of his strongest assets in his game, along with the quick decision making that belies his age.

Luke Chambers - Wigan

The young left-back has taken the opportunity to shine for the League One outfit this season. He has made 10 league appearances, all starts, as he has firmly established himself as one of the better players in the squad.

Chambers has notched a goal and an assist in the league as he has shown himself to be one of the better attacking fullbacks in League One.

This will be good to see from a Liverpool perspective as he is a clear option for the future after Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas.

He is completing 83% of his passes which is a very strong number for a defender that often plays long-balls and crosses. However, one thing he can improve is his defensive work as he has only won 6 tackles this season.

If he can bring his defensive aspect up just a bit to match his attacking prowess, he can become a real player. That development will be key during the rest of this loan spell.

Lewis Koumas - Stoke City

The Welsh teenager has made a very solid start to his tenure in the Championship with Stoke City. He has recorded 5 G/A in all competitions from 18 appearances.

He's adapted his game to the physicality of the league and this should only benefit him in the long run. If he can maintain this pace a more than respectable 10-14 goal contributions could be on the board from him come season end.

He has put 37.5% of his shots on target which is a solid ratio when you take into account he takes almost 3 shots per 90 minutes.

He is not afraid to put himself in dangerous spots and throw the ball on goal, which sometimes is half the battle with youngsters.

He can clean up his passing accuracy and work on the creative side of his game, but those are all things that will just come with time and experience. Stoke is providing him the platform to test his levels in a very underrated league.

The early returns are good to see for Liverpool and Koumas both.
