Joe Gomez suffered a muscle injury during the Reds' first pre-season match against Sunderland at Geodis Park eight days ago. Iraola confirmed earlier this week that the defender will be sidelined for a few weeks, thereby missing their Premier League opening day clash with Newcastle at St James' Park, which is just three weeks away now.

Wataru Endō, Giovanni Leoni and Stefan Bajčetić are all nearing a return to action, following long-term injuries. Conor Bradley and Hugo Ektikié though are still many months away, following serious knee injuries sustained in January and April respectively. All five players have though been with the rest of the squad at Chicago Fire Endeavor Health Performance Center this week.

Which of Liverpool's World Cup representatives are in line to feature?

Ryan Gravenberch, Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak all joined up with the squad stateside last weekend. Thus, Iraola stated during a press conference on Thursday that the trio are all in line to see some minutes against Leeds, which will be their first action of the pre-season campaign.

Which of Liverpool's World Cup representatives are unavailable?

Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo and Alisson were excused from joining up with the rest of the squad in America, following gruelling campaigns for club and country. Instead, the trio will be reunited with the rest of their teammates at AXA Training Centre on Monday.

New signing Víctor Muñoz will also return from his holiday next week, set to be presented to the Anfield crowd ahead of next Sunday's pre-season friendly against Ligue 1 side AS Monaco. Alexis Mac Allister meantime is not due back for another eight day, after playing almost every minute of every game as Argentina reached the World Cup Final, thereby given the full three weeks off.
