As leagues across Europe find themselves in summer break, let’s take a look at some of Liverpool’s stars and their international performances as major tournaments and qualifiers are underway across the globe.
Harvey Elliott - England U21
The Englishman has made a bright start at the U21 Euros, starting for England in their opening 3-1 win over the Czech Republic, where he opened the scoring just before halftime with a composed finish assisted by Manchester City’s James McAtee.
The following game saw Harvey’s team draw against Slovenia in a 0-0 fashion, with Elliott again playing the full 90 minutes. Overall, he has 24 U21 caps and a total of 16 goals and assists to date.
Andrew Robertson - Scotland
Andy Robertson featured in both of Scotland’s friendlies over the week, having secured a 4-0 win over Liechtenstein after suffering a tough 1-3 defeat by Iceland.
Despite the disappointing showing at home against Iceland, the Scottish captain bounced back earning a solid 7.3 Sofascore rating for the Liechtenstein game while only being on the pitch for just under an hour.
Diogo Jota - Portugal
Jota earned another international trophy last week, having come on for 15 minutes as Portugal claimed the 2025 UEFA Nations League trophy after beating Spain in a dramatic penalty shootout.
According to UEFA stats, he played a total of seven matches in the competition, having earned one assist and an 82.6% pass accuracy.

Jota is an established figure for Portugal, with 49 caps and 14 goals to his name so far, though this season has seen him featuring less due to his struggle with injuries.
Dominik Szoboszlai - Hungary
Similar to Robertson, Szoboszlai only featured in two friendlies for his international side, having lost the first game against Sweden and winning the second against Azerbaijan.
The midfielder remains Hungary's key creative outlet, having achieved the highest rating in the team throughout both outings according to Sofascore.
Jeremie Frimpong, Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch & Cody Gakpo - Netherlands
Captain van Dijk led Netherlands to a 2-0 away win over Finland as well as a massive 8-0 win against Malta in their World Cup qualifiers group. The Dutchman even managed to score early on in the latter to give his nation a 3-0 lead.
Jeremie Frimpong on the other hand only featured in the match against Finland, having started at right-wing where he struggled to complete dribbles, long balls, and ground duels.
Despite a tough showing in the qualifier, Frimpong is still a crucial member of the Dutch national team.

Moving onto Ryan Gravenberch, who’s become a regular starter for Ronald Koeman’s side.
The midfielder keeps on proving himself as a talented passer, achieving 94% and 92% passing accuracy in each respective game.
With how good he’s been for Liverpool and the Netherlands alike, there’s no doubt that Ryan will keep on being a must-start for both teams.
Cody Gakpo appeared in both qualifiers, having earned an assist in the crucial game against Finland.
Although he performed well during the first half against Malta, the forward was subbed off at half-time for PSV’s Noa Lang, who then went on to score later in the game.
