Well, Darwin Núñez is now leaving Liverpool. Now, their next move is looking more and more obvious.

Liverpool will be looking to repeat their Premier League win from last season. Despite what many would have thought heading into this season, the Reds have a much better chance of winning the league than they did at the start of last season.

Liverpool has strengthened in most areas of the pitch and their revamped squad is ready for the challenge. Liverpool was the strongest side last season, and given their rivals' inability to strengthen, the gap in quality is even bigger this time out.

However, Liverpool has a replacement conundrum on their hands. With Darwin Núñez leaving to join Al Hilal, does Arne Slot need to strengthen further in the transfer window?

The answer seems to be yes.

Liverpool will add more attacking options after Darwin Núñez sale

According to a transfer update from Paul Joyce, Liverpool will turn their attention to more attacking options in the summer transfer window. This is after agreeing to Darwin's £46m transfer exit recently.

In his own words. Joyce said: "Liverpool will look to strengthen in attacking areas with £46m deal for Darwin Nunez’s exit now agreed with Al Hilal."

Without a shadow of a doubt, that's brilliant news for Liverpool fans. Sure, fans can all bid a respectful farewell to Darwin, but the club needs to be less sentimental than fans. They have business to do, and hopefully they do it quickly.

As it stands, Liverpool does not have great attacking depth. Despite their additions this summer, not many of them can fill attacking positions of need. So, Arne Slot needs to sign at least one more attacker to paper over the cracks there.

The front three for the upcoming Community Shield is likely to be Salah-Gakpo-Ekitike. Which, obviously, is a star-studded attack. However, Liverpool needs a player who can bag a multitude of goals, through the center. Ekitike might be that, but he also might not. He's not proven in the EPL yet.

With Cody Gakpo in line to replace Luis Diaz out wide, Liverpool could do with at least one more center forward option.

Enter Alexander Isak. It's becoming painfully obvious to say, but he must be Liverpool's next move.

Of course, the arrival of the Swiss international depends on many factors. The main factor being, will Newcastle sort their downfalls out to put themselves in a better position to sell?

I guess only the future can answer the question. For now, Liverpool fans know he's the logical signing to upgrade on Darwin, but whether the signing is made is a different question entirely.
