Admittedly, Saturday was a pretty quiet day when it came to Liverpool players in international action. Given that Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo have both already suffered injury issues while away with their countries, Andoni Iraola was probably rather delighted about this fact.
Thus, only three players were involved in matches across the world, but they did produce some interesting talking points, so here is our latest Liverpool international roundup.
Víctor Muñoz features as Spain win again

Firstly, Spain simply cannot stop winning. On Saturday night, the world and European champions continued their perfect start to this UEFA Nations League campaign, beating Czechia 3-1 at Estadio Carlos Tartiere. Excluding penalty shootouts, Luis de la Fuente's team are now unbeaten in 42 competitive matches, dating back to March 2023, winning ten on the bounce.
Lamine Yamal has broken the deadlock in all three of la Roja's wins this week, doing so in the third minute, the second minute and now the sixth minute in Oviedo. Thus, with the score 2-0, the Barcelona sensation was taken off at half time, replaced by Liverpool's Víctor Muñoz.
The 23 year old has come off the bench during all three of Spain's matches in the last week, having never featured in a competitive international beforehand. Being Lamine Yamal's deputy is not an envious spot to be in, but Muñoz is clearly part of de la Fuente's plans.
Alexis Mac Allister's Argentina enjoy another emphatic victory

In the middle of the night, UK time at least, Argentina hammered Burkina Faso 7-0 at the Monumental. As he did against Bolivia in Córdoba on Wednesday, Alexis Mac Allister started the match and completed 70 minutes, twice forcing Burkinabé goalkeeper Razack Guira into a save.
This scoreline is not a fair reflection of les Étalons. Burkina Faso landed in Buenos Aires just six hours before kick off and Amir Abdou fielded 13 uncapped players. Since last October, Argentina have won nine out of nine friendlies, scoring 32 goals and conceding one, most against minnows, so while Mac Allister is starting games, he's unlikely to return to Merseyside exhausted.
Rio Ngumoha remains in reserve for England in Rijeka

Lastly, on Saturday evening, England demolished Croatia 7-0 at Stadion Rujevica, with Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka both on target twice in Rijeka. This was the Three Lions' biggest-ever victory against a side 50th or higher in the FIFA World Rankings, while is also the first time Croatia have ever shipped 5+ goals in any home match.
In terms of Liverpool interest, well there was not very much unfortunately. Rio Ngumoha remained an unused substitute, despite surely have been itching to get on. The teenager came on in Prague on Tuesday for his senior international debut, earning just his second cap. Thus, Ngumoha will surely be desperate to feature at Wembley for the first time when Czech Republic visit on Tuesday.
