It was another memorable European night at Anfield on Tuesday as Liverpool put on a vintage display in their 1-0 Champions League win over the visiting Real Madrid.

This is the second consecutive season the Reds have beaten Madrid at Anfield in the UCL league phase following last season's 2-0 victory.

It was a another step towards normalcy for Liverpool as this impressive showing came on the heels of finally securing a win in the Premier League at the weekend over Aston Villa. Let's see how the players rated in this enthralling victory.

Giorgi Mamardashvili - 6.5/10 - He was not called upon a lot in this one, but his positioning was sound and he made a good near post save from Jude Bellingham late in the first half.

Conor Bradley - 8.5/10 - A sublime outing from the Northern Ireland international as he is proving to love playing against this side. He pocketed Vini Jr. from the off and his intensity never let up.

Ibrahima Konate - 7/10 - Was not asked to do anything outrageous on the night, but he was very much a secure presence in defense as they shut down the dangerous Kylian Mbappe.

Virgil van Dijk - 7/10 - Like Konate, there was not a lot of clear dangerous moments at the back for Liverpool in this one. His positioning was strong as usual and almost scored late on.

Andy Robertson - 8/10 - Another strong showing from the veteran who continues to show his credentials to retain the left-back role. He was calm defending and got forward on more than one occasion.

Ryan Gravenberch - 7.5/10 - The Dutch midfielder was all over the place tonight blocking shots, cutting out passes and generally being a nuisance to Real's forwards. He covered a lot of ground and every inch was important.

Alexis Mac Allister - 9/10 - That was a vintage performance from Macca who looked the like the player who was a POTY contender last season. Took his goal well with a strong header, but he was popping up all over the pitch in this one. He's back.

Dominik Szoboszlai - 8.5/10 - It was another strong end-to-end showing from the Hungarian as he had several laser shots turned away, but also was tracking back and winning possession in the midfield. Got the assist on Macca's goal.

Florian Wirtz - 7.5/10 - Once again probably should have had at least one assist in this one were it not for great goalkeeping. His pressing and energy were top-notch. Good showing from Flo.

Mohamed Salah - 7/10 - Was dangerous and threatening on occasion, but not a virtuoso performance. Still, played on the front foot and tried to make things happen when he could.

Hugo Ekitike - 7/10 - Some tidy footwork in this one helped him wriggle out of some tight situations and he always drove forward when he could. A solid centre-forward night, sans the goal.

SUBS:

Cody Gakpo - 6.5/10 - He got a nice shot on goal after coming on and was a solid option going forward as Liverpool tried to finish the game off.

Curtis Jones - 6/10 - Solid, kept the ball moving to close things out comfortably.

Federico Chiesa - N/A - Not a lot of time to impact things in the final few minutes, but tried.

Milos Kerkez - N/A - Drew a foul moments after coming on late. Good effort.
