Despite being fatigued, this their third match in seven days, and depleted, with numerous key figures still in the treatment room, Liverpool managed to fight back from a goal down to beat Brentford 2-1 in the Premier League on Saturday. Numerous members of Andoni Iraola's squad caught the eye at the Gtech Community Stadium.

This certainly includes Florian Wirtz, who became only the second player in Premier League history to create 9+ open play chances in a single game. The other is Sadio Mané, who did so against Burnley five years ago. While there will be much focus on the German, as well as match-winner Alexander Isak, the afternoon's other scorer Víctor Muñoz certainly deserves to be spotlighted.

The Spaniard bagged his second goal for the club, bursting in-behind, cutting inside onto his favoured left foot and then firing into Caoimhin Kelleher's bottom corner. That though is not all. The World Cup winner also completed five of the six dribbles he attempted, racked up seven progressive carries and attempted three shots, the second most of any player on the pitch, behind only Bradley Barcola.

By the end, after both Dominik Szoboszlai and Jeremie Frimpong had been withdrawn due to injury, Muñoz had filled in a wide-variety positions, including right-back, leaving Liverpool fans impressed. @CentreKop on twitter noted that he had played "right back, right winger, left winger and striker" in the space of 90 minutes, "running for 90 minutes.. scoring goals and assisting", adding that the summer signing from Osasuna proved that "can do it all".

Speaking in the press conference after the match, Iraola praised Muñoz's "lovely attacking", adding that the winger "can make the difference" in the final third. Since making the £34.5 million move to Merseyside, he has featured in all seven Premier League games, of which five have been as a starter, instantaneously establishing himself as an important figure, even more so the case at the moment, considering Cody Gakpo's absence.

Following last weekend's defeat to Manchester City at Anfield, Muñoz posted on Instagram that "giving up is not an option", and that rather encapsulates his playing style. He certainly caught the eye in that game, causing Nico O'Reilly and then Joško Gvardiol problems all afternoon.

After the match, Jamie Carragher, who has made the second-most appearances in Liverpool's history, asserted that Muñoz and fellow youngster Lewis Koumas had been far more dangerous than big-money signings Florian Wirtz and Bradley Barcola, impressed by what he has to offer.

Next up is Villarreal in the Champions League on Tuesday. Muñoz scored against the Yellow Submarine for Osasuna at El Sadar in January, so will fancy his chances of another.
