It's not all sunshine and rainbows right now for Liverpool Football Club in the transfer market as Colombian winger and 17-goal scorer, Luis Diaz, is reportedly not happy with the club at this current time.

Earlier in the window, the Reds flatly rejected an approach from Barcelona for their No. 7, indicating they had no intention of moving him.

However, that faith is now being tested as reports have now surfaced that the club has been hesitant to offer an extension on his current deal that runs through 2027.

Diaz ready for fresh terms

Coming off of arguably his best season at Anfield with 25 goal contributions in all competitions, Diaz is seemingly ready to secure a new contract with a pay raise that reflects the work he has put in and his importance to the team.

He feels he has done more than enough to warrant a new contract. However the club have prioritized the likes of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Conor Bradley thus far this summer.

With his current deal not expiring until the summer of 2027, the club have not deemed it a top issue right now as the likes of Ibrahima Konate and Andy Robertson are entering the final years of their respective contracts.

This has reportedly not sat well with the Diaz camp and he is frustrated with the lack of faith being shown in him after his best season with the club in 2024/25.

Lucho, for his part, wants to pen an extension to stay in Red, but as things look, it might not be as smooth as one would have anticipated after Liverpool so publicly rejected Barcelona's overtures.

Bayern Munich watching intently

One club that has taken a vested interest in this dustup between club and player is German juggernauts Bayern Munich.

German outlet Bild is reporting Bayern's interest in the Colombian as a replacement for the departing Leroy Sane as they want a proven player that can contribute at a high level on Day 1.

It appears Liverpool might be willing to talk a deal right now, with a valuation of Diaz sitting around €70-85 million.

A second factor that could be adding fuel to this fire comes from Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra who notes that the Diaz camp feels the Premier League champions have gone back on their word.

This will only stoke Bayern's desire to capitalize on a murky situation.

Munich would offer Diaz a chance to keep playing at the highest level and challenging for Champions League success, so it is for sure a viable option if things keep deteriorating around his relationship with Liverpool.

Bayern have the infrastructure and resources to satisfy any request from the Reds, and this might be the closest he has come to an exit thus far since coming to England.
