Mohamed Salah deserves everything he's asking for in contract negotiations

The Egyptian star continues to shine despite being stuck in contract talks with the club, but the results show he should get what he wants.

At least 20 goals scored in all competitions every single season of his Liverpool career. Currently sitting on 20 goals and 17 assists from only 26 appearances this season.

Mohamed Salah might very well be having the best season of his Liverpool tenure, and that is including his 44-goal blitz during his early days. He was at his magical best once again during Sunday's Premier League win over West Ham.

He scored once again, because of course he did, and he also created two more goals as he has taken the creative aspect of his game to yet another level during this season.

Salah in a commanding spot for contract talks

The mere fact that Liverpool Football Club have allowed the contract of one of the best, if not the current best, players in the world to reach its final six months is a pure crime.

Policies be damned in instances like this. If you truly want to maximize your silverware window both now and in the future, it's an absolute no-brainer to give Salah a three-year extension.

Things might have been different if all of the premature talk about him falling off and being beyond his best were actually true. Instead, they could not have been further from the truth as he has actually gotten better this season under Arne Slot.

Now, he comes to the negotiating table as one of the most in-form players we have seen in quite a long time as he is a matchwinner every single time he steps on the pitch.

If he wants £400,000 a week, here's what you do FSG...you give him £400,000 a week. Liverpool are one of the most commercially successful clubs in the world and the revenue streams are endless. No, they do not have endless coffers, but they are deeper than they want us to know.

It's very much possible for the club to give Salah his big-money extension while also securing Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold's futures as well.

However, for as incredible as they are, the driving force right now is Salah as he makes those around him that much better. He draws so much attention it creates space for others. His attacking intelligence puts himself in the most dangerous positions.

The list of superlatives could go on and on for Salah. He's playing with such a calm confidence right now that if you are not a Liverpool supporter or member of the club, it might be terrifying.

He has scored or assisted in 21 of his 26 matches played this season so far. Of those, he has recorded a goal AND an assist in the same match nine times. Those are unreal numbers and it underscores his value is priceless for a club that is charging down as many trophies as they can hold.

Give the man whatever he wants, it'll be worth it in the long run.
