LFC News: Reds win big at Bournemouth, Salah status & more
There is a lot to unpack around Liverpool these days, from injuries, to contract rumors and the matches on the field. We picked some of the most important notes you should know about. Let's dive in!
Liverpool maintain status quo at top of table with Bournemouth win
The Reds walked out of the Vitality Stadium as 4-0 winners on Sunday and as a result increased their lead over Manchester City to 5 points in the table, albeit with the Citizens having a game in hand.
Even so, it was another strong performance from the squad and Jurgen Klopp will be more than happy than happy to keep the good times rolling at such a tough venue to play.
Mohamed Salah returning to Liverpool to rehab hamstring injury
It was the worst nightmare realized for Liverpool fans across the world as Salah, playing for Egypt at the African Cup of Nations, was not getting up off the pitch while rubbing his hamstring.
It was then confirmed he did have a strained hamstring that would keep him out of the next match and potentially the Round of 16 if Egypt reached that point. However, Jurgen Klopp has said that if Egypt reach the Final and Mo is fit he will go back.
TAA, Szoboszlai and Robertson nearing returns from injury
Trent Alexander-Arnold has been out with a minor muscle issue, but the 11 days off prior to playing Bournemouth was a great bit of timing as he appears almost ready to return.
Dominik Szoboszlai is another huge name that is inching closer to a return, even potentially the League Cup semifinal second leg against Fulham.
Robbo has been out with a long-term shoulder injury and him rejoining the squad would be a massive boost to a team still challenging for all the silverware.
Kylian Mbappe wage demands could scupper any Liverpool deal
The French megastar has been hotly tied with Real Madrid and Liverpool as his contract with PSG continues into its final months.
While Klopp and his staff are obviously huge admirers and would love to have him on a free, Mbappe's rumored wage demands of more than £1 million PER WEEK would likely shatter any prospective deal.
Salah makes £350,000 per week and that was a year-long process. It just gets less and less likely to happen unfortunately.
