It is the September international break and several Liverpool players are performing for their country.

Just three matches into the Premier League campaign, and we are hit with an international break. Liverpool has a host of players who will be competing for their nations over the next week or so, and some have already been performing.

Along with CONEMBOL, the AFC nations are focusing on World Cup qualifying for this window. The AFC is in its third round of qualifying, which has seen Endo's Japan draw five other nations in its group, including China.

Wearing the captain's armband, Liverpool's Wataru Endo played 71 minutes and opened the scoring for Japan, earning the game-winner on Sept. 5. The defensive midfielder was left completely open at the top of the box and promptly found the back of the net with a header. Japan still has Bahrain left to play against, a match that will take place on Sept. 10.
