Liverpool was able to shake off a sluggish first half at Portman Road on Saturday to ultimately ease to a comfortable 2-0 win in their Premier League opener against Ipswich Town.

Second half goals from Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah roughly five minutes apart were enough to get the job done on the day and secure the points.

It was not all sunshine and rainbows as there are some things to clean up for sure, but today, it's a Premier League win and a clean sheet. See how the Liverpool players rated in victory.

Alisson Becker - 6.5/10 - It wasn't a vintage performance from the Reds No. 1, but he made the saves he needed to. Was not a lot of work to do in this one overall though. Clean sheet.

Trent Alexander-Arnold - 7/10 - He really grew into the match in the second half and it was his outstanidng through ball to Salah that created the 2nd. He really played very advanced in the second half and it paid off.

Virgil van Dijk - 6.5/10 - Another one that was not required to be at his absolute best. Made some smart reads to cutout a few Ipswich attacking moves. Did not get involved much going forward.

Jarell Quansah - 6.5/10 - He was the far superior defender in the first 45 minutes of action. He is really getting good at last-ditch tackles and he had a few again. Odd halftime substitution though which clearly had him fuming.

Andy Robertson - 6/10 - Worked hard but was caught in possession far too many times. His deliveries into the box were not his best work. Worked hard as always though.

Ryan Gravenberch - 7.5/10 - One of his better games in a Liverpool shirt as he was active everywhere on the pitch in this one. A few lose tackles need to be cleaned up but was tidy on the ball and played a more dynamic holding midfield.

Alexis Mac Allister - 6.5/10 - He was largely invisible for a lot of the game but kept things moving well enough when on the ball. Grew into the game late in terms of influence, but overall, an average day.

Dominik Szoboszlai - 7/10 - This was a good start to an important season for Szobo as he put out some delightful passes throughout. He played in a more advanced role and looked very comfortable. A tidy piece of play in the 2nd half with TAA created a big chance. Encouraging start.

Mohamed Salah - 8.5/10 - A goal and an assist from the Egyptian once again reiterate his importance to this Liverpool team. Always was a threat down the wing and really elevated his game in the 2nd half to see the game off.

Diogo Jota - 7.5/10 - Jota likely did enough in this one to warrant another start the next time out. His off-ball pressing was good and his attack positioning was elite as ever. His goal was a nice finish from a beautiful move.

Luis Diaz - 6.5/10 - This felt like a lot of Lucho performances in recent months. A lot of hard work and running with some occasional flashy dribbling but no end product. Good effort and skill, but you want more.

SUBS:

Conor Bradley - 6.5/10 - He came on for TAA and instnatly got involved in the attack. Had one shot blocked and another saved that might go in on a different day. A class understudy to Trent.

Ibrahima Konate - 6.5/10 - Came on at halftime and did a proper job in the second half. Handled a lot of the Ipswich moves when they came at him and stood his ground.

Cody Gakpo - N/A - Game was all but over when he came on. Booked and did not have many forays forward in truly threatening moments. Like to see him get on sooner going forward.

Kostas Tsimikas - N/A - Another player just getting minutes when things were done and dusted. Nice stroll in the afternoon sun.
