It was a darn near perfect Sunday as Liverpool walked into Old Trafford and put in a proper shift to brush aside our greatest rivals in ruthlessly efficient fashion 3-0.

Arne Slot will be absolutely delighted with the squad as they rose to the occasion of the first marquee fixture in his tenure so far. There were several wonderful outings from the Reds and we should waste no more time and get into it.

Here's how Liverpool rated in their impressive win over Manchester United.

Alisson Becker - 7/10- He made some really good saves in this one, especailly in the second half as he turned away a point-blank header from Joshua Zirkzee. That's three clean sheets already and he looks as good as ever.

Trent Alexander-Arnold - 7/10 - Thought he scored the opener but it was ruled out as Salah was a fraction offside. Was always pushing the ball forward and seemed to be enjoying his football.

Ibrahima Konate - 7/10 - Another solid display from the big Frenchman as he looks to have reestablished himself in the XI for the time being. He handled some tense moments and won several aerial duels.

Virgil van Dijk - 8/10 - The Captain had his best outing of the season as he understood the occasion and raised his level. Directed traffic, cut out passes and stepped up for his teammates when they were roughed up. Proper shift from big Virg.

Andy Robertson - 6.5/10 - He was industrious up-and-down the left flank but he did not really have a standout moment in this one. He was overall solid with some nice blocks and interceptions.

Alexis Mac Allister - 7/10 - It was not flashy outing for the recent Copa winner, but he made multiple tackles just outside the Liverpool box to thwart any threats. He is just a wonderful professional that can do whatever the team needs.

Ryan Gravenberch - 9/10 - All that was missing was a goal. He was all over the pitch, tracking back to intercept passes, block shots, harry United runners and more. In addition, carried the ball forward several times and his drive into the box led to the first goal of the match. Truly ascending right now.

Dominik Szoboszlai - 7.5/10 - His wonderfully weighted through ball put Salah through for his goal and he looks to have found his new home in a slightly more advanced role under Slot, Always a willing runner anywhere on the pitch and oozes talent when he is engaged. More of this please.

Mohamed Salah - 9/10 - 2 assists and 1 goal as he has been a tour de force to begin the new campaign. He looks better than he has in a long time. Took his goal nicely first time and his two assists were world class, particularly the chipped cross.

Luis Diaz - 8.5/10 - He is doing everything he can to dispel the notion that he has no end product as he stayed clinical in front of goal. His header was strong and confident and his second was a sublime first time strike while falling away with bend. If he maintains this level.....lookout.

Diogo Jota - 7/10 - Was not asked to shoulder the attack in this one but he was hardworking in his defensive duties and flowing around the attack as well. A nice day and did nothing to warrant him not starting upon their return from the break.

SUBS:

Cody Gakpo - 6.5/10 - Pushed a header wide from a Szobo cross shortly after coming on but was tasked with more defensive duties than attack for the final 10 minutes. His time to shine will come soon enough.

Darwin Nunez - 6.5/10 - Brought a nice energy after coming on and put a long range effort just wide. Could tell the game was dusted and the overall intensity was not there. But he pressed and harried as he is always willing to do.

Conor Bradley - 6/10 - Brought on for the final quarter hour for TAA, did not have a lot of work to do in this one. Forayed forward on the odd chance he could. Starts will come as well for the lad.

Kostas Tsimikas - N/A - Minutes for the Greek Scouser.
