Liverpool concluded a tremendous preseason with a comprehensive victory over Sevilla on Sunday afternoon as they romped to a 4-1 win over the La Liga side.
It was the perfect end to what turned out to be a very productive and motivating set of preseason fixtures where the Reds looked great throughout.
Some big name stars were back in action for the Reds and they carried a lot of the load in the win, so let's see how Liverpool players rated in this one.
Alisson Becker - 6.5/10 - The Brazilian was in action for the first time this preseason and looked to be well-rested and was his normal efficient self. Made a few decent saves but overall it was an easy day.
Trent Alexander-Arnold - 7.5/10 - It was a vintage performance from TAA as he put several enticing balls into dangerous areas. Provided the sweet cross for Jota's goal. He played his hybrid role to near perfection in this one.
Jarell Quansah - 6.5/10 - The big man has surely locked up an opening day starting spot alongside VVD. It wasn't his best work on Sunday but he was professional as ever and left a solid impact on the pitch.
Virgil van Dijk - 6/10 - Our captain did not have a lot to do in this one with Liverpool in complete control throughout most of the game. Some comfortable challenges and a fine tune-up for the real deal.
Kostas Tsimikas - 6.5/10 - One of the better games from the Greek Scouser in some time. Raided down the left side time and again trying to be dangerous. Slowed somewhat but encouraging overall.
Ryan Gravenberch - 6/10 - This was an important start for the Dutchman as he could have stamped his authority in the side while playing with so many established players. It was an up-and-down day as he missed a chance to score but showed glimpses of positive form.
Alexis Mac Allister - 6/10 - Fresh off winning Copa America, Mac Allister started his first friendly and was fine. He moved the ball and play along well but did not need to do a lot on the day. Ideal way to ease back into things.
Mohamed Salah - 7/10 - Salah looks to be in great form as the season begins. He was a menace down the right side as usual creating chances and half-chances for himself and others.
Dominik Szoboszlai- 6.5/10 - Szobo played in the No. 10 role for much of this one but was largely ineffective. However, created the third goal which was good work. Needs to get the energy back and stop floating out of matches.
Luis Diaz - 8/.5/10 - This was more like it from Lucho. Finally showed an end product to his fancy footwork and work rate. Scored two nice goals, but his second was particularly good. Carry this form into the real games please and thank you.
Diogo Jota - 8/10 - Played through the middle in this one and led the line well. Industrious and clever in the final 1/3. His volleyed goal was a sublime piece of skill and reminded the world of his finishing prowess.
Honorable Mentions:
Trey Nyoni - 7/10 - Came on as a second half sub but scored a banger of a goal as he really likes a player that can contribute to the first team this season.
Stefan Bajcetic - 6.5/10 - More good work in the midfield from the young Spaniard as he continues to work his way back to full fitness. A modestly productive quarter hour of work as he moved the ball well.
