We are getting close to wrapping up this congested few weeks of fixtures across all competitions for Liverpool as they have not slowed down despite a match every few days.

Wednesday's Champions League tilt with Bologna at Anfield is yet another important match in a long run of them and the Reds are coming in on a roll as they battled to another victory over Wolves in the Premier League at the weekend.

When the action kicks off in the midweek, Arne Slot's side will have many fresh players at the ready for this meeting.

With that being said, let's take a look at how Liverpool could lineup for Champions League Matchday 2.

Goalkeeper: Alisson Becker

Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson

Midfielders: Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch, Curtis Jones

Forwards: Mohamed Salah. Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz

Probable Subs: Cody Gakpo, Dominik Szoboszlai, Diogo Jota, Conor Bradley, Wataru Endo

With the majority of the squad playing so well this season, Slot has a slew of solid options to pick from all over the pitch. Alisson of course, when healthy, gets the nod in goal.

The defense remains unchanged from the Wolves win but I also would not be shocked to see a start from Bradley or Kostas Tsimikas.

Mac Allister and Gravenberch have made themselves near locks if they are fit based on their form this season, especially the young Dutch midfielder who has adapted to his new role with ease and class. This leaves the third choice as the one that is the most susceptible to rotation.

Szoboszlai has not been poor this season, but he has been a bit more up and down than the other two have. This brings me to Jones who has looked very good in his few games since getting back from injury.

Salah is a must-start as always and Diaz is having his best season as a Liverpool player. Although, Gakpo could very well be the man in this one just as he was against AC Milan where he thrived.

If Nunez is feeling better, I think a visiting team to Anfield is a perfect opportunity for him to use his pace and power to bring the fight to them and we can use Jota's technical aspects later if needed.

Liverpool can run out several iterations of a Starting XI for this match and they would all be justified and have the Reds as favorites so however Slot decides to go with it, I think a big performance is sure to come thereafter.
