Liverpool 2-1 Aston Villa (2007)
Dirk Kuyt pulled the ball from the byline back before Martin Laursen spurned the ball into his own net to put Liverpool ahead.
Jamie Carragher handled the ball, allowing Gareth Barry to convert from the penalty spot. Big names likes Xabi Alonso, Dirk Kuyt and Steven Gerrard go the start in this one.
Steven Gerrard scored an amazing free-kick in the 87th minute to give Liverpool the win on Fernando Torres’ debut.
Liverpool 6-1 Crystal Palace (1994)
Roy Evans’s Liverpool thrashed Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. The rout was started after Rob Jones was felled in the penalty area and Jan Molby dispatched the subsequent spot kick.
A breakaway goal from Steve McManaman and a Robbie Fowler goal off an interception, put Liverpool three up at the break.
Chris Armstrong pulled a goal back for the home side, but Liverpool’s scoring soon resumed as Ian Rush headed home and McManaman poked the ball past Nigel Martyn.
Rush nodded in Liverpool’s sixth, completing the Reds’ biggest win of the Premier League era.
