It's been a quiet summer so far for Liverpool but things are picking up.

Amid their tour in the United States, slowly but surely, work is being done behind the scenes to decide on Liverpool's incomings and outgoings this summer. Multiple players who spent last season out on loan will have their futures decided over the coming weeks. Additionally, Arne Slot will decide which senior players are deemed surplus and can be sold to make way for new signings.

Liverpool Transfer News: Endo deemed surplus and bid for van den Berg rejected

Wataru Endo could be sold this summer as Arne Slot looks elsewhere

As revealed by Fabrizio Romano yesterday, earlier in July Liverpool rejected a proposal from Marseille for Wataru Endo, worth around £11.7M. However, a deal to see the Japanese international switch to France is now completely off the table.

It may not be the end of a Wataru Endo transfer saga, though, as journalist David Lynch reported via Twitter that German clubs are keeping tabs on Endo and Liverpool could be open to selling the veteran defensive midfielder.

Furthermore, Lynch followed up recently by stating that Endo has yet to be a prominent figure in Arne Slot's plans throughout pre-season training.

This means that Liverpool could be in the mix to sign a defensive midfielder, especially if Endo departs. Endo was always seen as a short-term option for the club after striking out on Romeo Lavia and Moses Caicedo to Chelsea a year ago.

PSV send underwhelming bid for Sepp van den Berg

Sepp van den Berg could very well move on this summer as the Dutchman searches for guaranteed starting minutes. However, a significant bid will need to be made though, as previous reports suggest that Liverpool will want a minimum of £20m for the youngster.

Last week, Eredivisie side PSV sent an £8.4M bid to Liverpool in hopes of signing Sepp van den Berg, but the deal was, of course, immediately rejected, according to Fabrizio Romano. It is unclear if PSV will return with an improved bid at this moment.

van den Berg started Liverpool's friendly against Real Betis, but it remains unlikely that he will earn a starting spot under Arne Slot.
