Three Liverpool players to watch versus Manchester United

It’s almost here.
After a long summer, the inevitable march of time has brought us Manchester United versus Liverpool.
The focus will perhaps rightly be on Erik ten Hag versus Arne Slot, but what about the individual battles on the pitch? Most importantly, how can Liverpool come out on top?
Trent Alexander-Arnold
If Liverpool are to succeed at Manchester United on Sunday, it is imperative that Trent Alexander-Arnold has a good game.
Trent is now a senior member of Liverpool’s squad and must rise to the challenge of facing down Marcus Rashford.
In 2018, Alexander-Arnold was given a torrid time by Rashford at Old Trafford as the winger scored twice, and United won 2-1.
It’s up to the right-back to show that he has matured and can handle a tricky winger in an intense atmosphere. This is even more important, considering that Trent will likely be receiving little defensive help from Mo Salah on the right.
Trent also needs to use possession wisely, and not gift Manchester United too much vital possession, the lifeblood of a game like this. He along with the midfield can help Liverpool to dictate play.
