3. Beginning the seasons with no new signings
On the topic of being prepared to begin the season, Liverpool is the only team in the Top 5 European leagues that cannot use the excuse that the new players need to "adjust" to their new club. The Reds did not make a single signing before the beginning of the Premier League season and could reportedly go the entire window without signing anyone.
Obviously, the club would have liked to have had Martin Zubimendi, but that ship has sailed, and no alternative option is being coveted. The club's only "signing" of the window could be Valencia's Giorgi Mamardashvili, who will only sign a pre-agreement for a 2025 summer transfer before heading out on loan to Bournemouth for this season. That, of course, is assuming a deal is actually struck, which is not the case as of now.
The starting XI will all have played for the club last season, with potentially some options off the bench being players who were out on loan for the 23/24 campaign. It's been a bleak summer transfer window for the Reds, and it will be up to the existing squad to prove Richard Hughes right for being so stagnant this summer on incomings.
