Mohamed Salah

If Gravenberch is the surprise package then Mo Salah is certainly the unsurprising inclusion. He continues to break records even this early in the season.

On the opening day of the season he put himself ahead in the table for most goals scored on the opening day of the season with 9.

That record will take a huge effort to break. Then there is the record for the number of goals he has scored at Old Trafford. 10 goals in 9 appearances for Salah. The fact that Old Trafford is the home of Liverpool’s fiercest rivals adds another dimension to this record.

Furthermore, Salah has contributed to each goal so far this season bar 1. The goal Luis Diaz scored against Brentford is the only goal that Salah has not contributed to.

All other goals Liverpool have scored so far this season have either been scored or assisted by Salah. Salah has always been a numbers guy and continues to make fantasy league players happy.

You can see at the age of 31 he is still fresh and sharp. He comes back to pre-season each year determined to do even better.

There is no complacency when it comes to Salah. The post match interview from Sunday shows that he is laser focused on his career.

Slot’s style of play has allowed Salah to be a lot more efficient which is evident in the numbers. The passing style preferred by Slot means that there is less running to do and that conserves energy.

This energy is then utilized to its fullest in the final third of the pitch. It wouldn’t surprise me to see Salah playing upfront if Jota was to get injured and the likes of new signing Federico Chiesa coming into Salah’s position.
