THREE takeaways from Liverpool's thrashing of Manchester United

Luis Diaz’s coming of age
Luis Diaz typified this, taking the ball off Casemiro, leaving him to lie there and ponder where at home to frame his United shirt. This was Diaz’s crowning moment in a Liverpool shirt.
It feels daft to say, him having been a Red for so long, but this was Luis Diaz’s first match-winning brace for Liverpool in a big game. The first one where you can say, “That was Diaz’s game.”
He took the game to Manchester United, and he looked every bit like the quality player in his prime, which we knew he would become.
I said before the game that he could be instrumental to Liverpool’s success against Manchester United. We know what we get from Mo Salah by now, loads and loads of goals.
I hope that Diaz will only kick on from here, the sharpness that surrounds him early season will pervade. I really hope that it does.
