Following a comfortable Boxing Day triumph over Leicester City, Liverpool Football Club looks to continue their strong Premier League campaign on Sunday in a meeting with West Ham.
The Reds will be without Dominik Szoboszlai who picked up his 5th yellow card of the season and will miss out due to suspension as well as several players dealing with injuries.
Having said that, Liverpool should have plenty of firepower to be considered favorites in this meeting with the Hammers and Arne Slot will be expecting his side to come out firing. Let's see how Liverpool could lineup for Sunday's match.
Goalkeeper: Alisson Becker
Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk, Kostas Tsimikas
Midfielders: Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch, Curtis Jones
Forwards: Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo
PROBABLE SUBS: Harvey Elliott, Darwin Nunez, Wataru Endo, Diogo Jota, Andy Robertson
Alisson starts in goal once again as he continues to round himself into his peak form and condition as we turn the calendar to the new year.
Alexander-Arnold gets the start again, partially because Conor Bradley is still hurt, but also because while his service was lacking on Thursday, his intent was not. He was a few inches away on a few crosses from potentially having an assist or two.
Gomez and van Dijk have become a rock solid center-defensive pairing in the absence of Ibrahima Konate. Gomez is looking very comfortable with the new responsibilities that have been put upon him alongside the skipper.
I could see Robbo getting the start once again, but he has seen a lot of minutes this season and is probably due for a good rest and reset. Tsimikas comes in and should look to get forward often.
As mentioned above, Szoboszlai misses out, meaning Jones gets penciled in following his fine night on Boxing Day that saw him score the winning goal.
Gravenberch and Mac Allister are automatic starts when fit, so they should be the key pieces in the Liverpool engine in this one. Mac Allister being at his box-to-box best would be ideal for the Reds.
Salah retains his normal role on the right side of the attack as he looks to keep shattering all the records that he can. Gakpo should keep his place following a brilliant night against Leicester. Lastly, Diaz, who was unused on Thursday, takes the place of Nunez who failed to score once again.
This Starting XI should be more than enough to get the job done for Arne Slot's charges against West Ham on Sunday.
