Diogo Jota

It is fair to say that Diogo Jota’s career has been a success at Liverpool. He has picked up two trophies on the way and has put in some stellar performances that fans will remember for a long time.

While the high’s have been plenty, his Liverpool career has been accentuated by regular injuries. Each season that he has played has been marked with a spell on the side lines.

Frustratingly for him and the club, his injuries tend to come about when he is on top of his game. As a result the team suffers the loss and it also takes several games for Jota to regain that goal scoring form.

This season upon his return from yet another injury has been more frustrating than normal. He has played a number of matches but only has the winning goal against Everton last Wednesday to show for it.

It was a typical wonderful Jota goal as well with ice in his veins as he was able to twist and turn amongst the Everton defenders and put the ball back in the net.

The regular injuries appear to now be taking its toll on Jota. The recovery of form seems to take longer. At the age of 28 and somewhat injury prone, would now be a good time to cash in on this special striker

The case for him to stay would be for Jota to be a squad player who comes in now and again to affect games later on. Saving his legs may reduce his time on the treatment table.

Jota’s playing style certainly does suit the brand of football that Slot implements as he blends the attack and midfield seamlessly.
