Lewandowski to Liverpool? Rubbish

Reports link Robert Lewandowski to Liverpool, claiming the ‘boyhood fan’ wants a reunion with Jurgen Klopp
Well, I’ve had it with silly season. I’m out. Apparently, Robert Lewandowski is a boyhood Liverpool fan, and because of Jurgen Klopp’s history with the player we’re clearly a destination one of the BEST STRIKERS IN THE WORLD would consider.
I’m sure our lack of European football, lack of recent trophies and bad finish in the league would allow us to poach him away from the best, most successful clubs in the world.

This article comes from the Daily Mail, and basically talks about how unsettled Lewandowski is at Bayern Munich. It goes on to talk about the possibility of Lewandowski moving to the Premier League, and how the player is open to such a move. While the Mail only includes Liverpool in the discussion about possible destinations, the Daily Express leads with the Liverpool link in the headline of their piece.
Let me just make this 100% clear. Lewandowski has admitted his dream move would be to Real Madrid, but accepts that one of their top players would probably need to eave before that move could happen. Then, there’s currently a whole collection of teams winning trophies and boasting Champions League football, who can and will pay more than Liverpool.
Yeah okay, if you want to be optimistic you could argue that eventually, if we get Champions League football, we could compete for his signing, however currently we probably have more chance of me joining Liverpool as the new first choice striker.
This is probably the biggest example of ‘silly season’ I’ve seen to far. Yes, we’re an exciting club who can (and likely will) go on to win something and compete at a higher level again. Yes, we have a wonderful history, but no, we’re currently not the type of club that can pull of a signing that big.
