Jon Flanagan may be out of favor with Red’s and his revival hangs on a thread!

There is little hope left for players on break from Liverpool’s dressing room, who are using their skills elsewhere, says the Liverpool FC tabloid This is Anfield.

In this post we outline how bad it’s been for Liverpool born, Jon Flanagan. Flanagan and two other players see no light at the end of their Red tunnels.

With follow-up articles, we will scrutinize the next two, who are skating on thin ice as well. First, let’s recap Flanagan’s bad luck and what his current situation is at Burnley.

Leading Up to the Loan Spell

All it took was one of the worst injuries known to footballers for Jon Flanagan to have such an unstable future at the club he calls home.

After a favorable run-out under Brendan Rodgers, a time where Liverpool were a potent side, Flanagan’s luck took a turn for the worse.

After appearing in the entire 2013/14 season, Flanagan received a knock in the final game against New Castle. He was sidelined for a lengthy spell of 19 months, missing the entire 2014/2015 season.

Once returning from injury, Flanagan took a long time to get back to match fitness. He never really hit the ground running. The young right-back only managed five Premier League appearances and was unable to impress the new boss, Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp then however, put Flanagan out on loan to the promoted side, Burnley. Sean Dyche’s side has been enjoying their second shot at top flight football, doing extremely well in their quest to stay in the Premier League.

Since moving over, Flanagan has had little joy in breaking into the starting eleven. Only managing five starts out of the possible twenty-five.

Furthermore, he has registered two yellow cards in the handful of games he has appeared. Also, he sports a 71% pass completion and only 32% of his duels won, giving him an overall match rating of 6.82.

What about the player’s age? That is the only attribute weighing up in his favor at the moment. Flanagan’s Liverpool days are numbered as the clock winds down for him and others.

With these stats, one can honestly say, this is not good enough for a Liverpool player. Letting go of Flanagan would suit both parties well. All of the above points towards a summer exit, for sure.
