When Liverpool gets linked with the same player more than three times, it keeps me optimistic about the possibility of the transfer happening. Especially, if it’s a player such as defender, Virgil van Dijk.
We’ve covered the Virgil van Dijk rumor many times leading up to now. The difference is, it’s nearing the end of the season and the summer transfer window will be opening soon.
Klopp and Liverpool will be looking to complete business early, as they did last season. Early or late, business needs to be done. Undoubtedly, Liverpool will be signing new defenders to help out with a problem the manager struggled to solve this season.
Predominately, Liverpool needs a new left-back and central defender, maybe even two. So far this season, new addition to the club, Klavan has struggled to not make errors. Matip has been excellent and the best central defender by far, but his meant-to-be partner, had too much time on the sideline.
When Lovren was fit and worked alongside Matip, Liverpool’s defensive game picked up and improved, but as mentioned earlier, Lovren had a bit of an intermitted run this campaign.

The third mill running, Virgil van Dijk’s link must become a reality!
Waking up this morning, unlocking the apple, and checking the timeline. I was surprised to see a write-up from This is Anfield, that Virgil van Dijk has entered talks with Liverpool.

It’s hard to run with a transfer rumor when it’s a top player being linked Liverpool, but what I do know is. When Liverpool are linked to the same player more than one transfer window in a row, we normally sign the player.
Steven Gerrard has too expressed his willingness, to see van Dijk in a Liverpool shirt, come next season. It would too, be a normal movement from Liverpool’s academy, Southampton, to the first team who plays at Anfield, Liverpool.
