A Liverpool target I was hoping was completed long before now. How this Dahoud transfer link has died down, comes at no surprise. Question is, who is Klopp in for after this predictable news?

Was there any doubt we would get Dahoud? YES! Was there ever a possibility the rumor would be more than a rumor? NO! Liverpool, notorious in their transfer dealings, for either losing interest, or shifting interest elsewhere.

Trusted Melissa Reddy, says the death of Dahoud’s link to Liverpool is real. Liverpool halted their interest in one of the so-called, priority targets for summer. Reason being, Klopp could be more than happy with the performances of captain Henderson and stand-in midfielder, Emre Can.

Henderson has been out with an injury, since the Spur’s win in February. Since recovering, he could be in contention for a start in this weekend intense derby against Everton. Henderson seems to be the main factor to why Klopp has stopped in his pursuit for the German.

To add to this, in Henderson’s absence, Emre Can has been near to phenomenal in recent weeks. Emphasizing the talent we possess in the ranks already and what we can expect, if the team was to stay more or less the same, for seasons to come.

Is Liverpool pulling out of this transfer possibly too early, or is Klopp right by turning his head in the other direction?

Plenty answers and individual opinions come from this and in my opinion. Klopp and the transfer committee should stay in the race (if there was ever one), acquire the player’s signature and get ready to welcome the new man when the season ends.

To support this, I will go on to say. Emre’s contract extension is up in the air, cries of a new person to step into the safe zone have to be heard. Liverpool, expected to make European football in the new season. Need to have quality in numbers and sealing the deal with such a player, would tick all the right boxes.

There are certainly enough facts to support the pursuit of this transfer, but very little agreeing with Klopp and the club’s decision to kill the Dahoud interest. Revive the life of the transfer links, don’t let it go underground, like all the other potentially world-class players, we have missed out on already.

Food for thought: In a perfect world, where Liverpool backup their transfer links. Imagine a team with a midfield pair consisting of, Emre Can and Mahmoud Dahoud controlling the game.
