Liverpool continues their hot streak as they ride into the sunset with a 4-1 win against West Ham in their tangerine kits. Here is our match report:

Today’s tea time kick off saw West Ham host Liverpool at home at the Olympic Stadium. After facing a 4-1 loss themselves against Tottenham, the Reds seemed to take revenge on the next available London club.

Sadio Mané smashed his injury expectations and returned three weeks earlier than preempted. Although the Number 19 couldn’t get lucky with a goal for himself, his link up play with his fellow winger was astonishing.

A deadly duo

Since arriving from Southampton in 2016, Mané has been one of Liverpool’s key players. But since the signing of Mohamed Salah, the Senegalese winger has excelled further. The two bounce off each other’s energy. Their combined pace and filthy footwork is a defender’s most dreaded nightmare. This evening’s game was no exception.

Salah netted two goals against West Ham, both created by Mané. The two caused absolute havoc for the home side. They singlehandedly opened up the scoreline by motoring down the pitch and leaving West Ham’s defence in the dust.

Mo Salah’s stats are continuously rising. His goal count for Liverpool is now at a whopping 12 in 17 games since joining the club in June. 7 of those have been in the Premier League. He is now level with Sergio Aguero and Romelu Lukaku, just one goal behind Harry Kane.

Lacazette and Morata who? The Egyptian is undeniably the signing of the season.

The Liverpool way

Not only did the world-class wingers create mayhem on the pitch but the entire team ran rings around the Hammers. Aside from a defensive flurry to see Manuel Lanzini find the back of the net, Liverpool’s defence was superb. A huge improvement from the side that were derailed by Spurs.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was particularly impressive. His earlier games attracted a lot of negativity from fans and the media, but now he seems to settling right in. The 24-year-old’s performance today was brilliant. His pressing and pace made West Ham sweat and it paid off with a much deserved goal.

The Ox has now scored two goals in his Number 21 shirt. Compared to his heavily criticized 9 goals in six years with Arsenal, the lad is on track to soaring past those statistics already.
