French TV station Canal+ are claiming that the transfer of Nabil Fekir to Liverpool is 99% finished. That is exciting new for transfer hungry Reds.

Okay you can get a little excited now. The biggest Liverpool transfer rumor of the summer so far appears to have some credibility as French TV channel Canal+ claim that Nabil Fekir moving to Anfield is 99% done.

The French striker refused to rule out a move to Liverpool on Thursday as he was interviewed before today’s game between Lyon and Nice. After being asked if this would be his last game for the club he only replied with an evasive:

‘I am only thinking about this. After the match, we’ll see.’

Now the French station is doubling down on its previous reporting that Fekir will indeed move to Liverpool.

During the Lyon v Nice coverage the pundits claimed that the deal is 99% finished. That will be very exciting news to Liverpool fans who have been looking to see who the Reds will target this summer.

Reports are that the fee will be around £61 million and may include the player’s brother who is also at Lyon; Yassin Fekir.

There has also been rumors that the player has already met with Jurgen Klopp earlier in the year and that the manager had convinced him to join his attacking football revolution at Anfield.

It would be very unlikely for there to be any confirmation of incomings – or, indeed, outgoings – until after the Champions League final against Real Madrid next weekend. But it is likely that Michael Edwards and the Liverpool transfer staff are just as busy as Klopp and the squad getting ready for a big summer in the transfer market.
