Liverpool beat Everton with a last minute goal and Jurgen Klopp embodied every fan’s reaction with his celebration – but Danny Mills didn’t like it.

Klopp sprinted onto the pitch and embraced goalkeeper Alisson Becker after Divock Origi scored in the 95th minute.

Jordan Pickford will come to regret his prediction that he wouldn’t make any errors in the style of Alisson – and he definitely won’t want to watch many replies of his decision to palm the ball into the path of Origi.

But has Mills got his reaction completely wrong after blasting the German on BBC Five Live following the final whistle?

More from Liverpool FC News

The former Leeds United defender felt that there are no circumstances in which a manager is allowed to run onto the pitch in order to celebrate and called the Liverpool manager’s behaviour disrespectful.

Mills was instantly shut down by those on Twitter, including S*n journalist Neil Custis – who thought the pundit’s statement was ridiculous.

The comment was sparked by an Everton fan calling in to complain, who then suggested that Marco Silva would never celebrate in that manner WHILE saying she’d think it was disgraceful if he did.

Honestly there is just so much going on there that it’s hard to take it all in. But let’s start with allowing some passion to come into the game, understanding that there is so much pressure on every result and allowing a release when things go right.

Yeah it sucks when you’re on the receiving end of things, but let’s not turn the sport into a robotic, emotionless affair designed to fill the pockets of states masquerading as investment companies and the Premier League.

Klopp appreciated what he did might not have displayed the most grace and apologised after the game. But some more understanding from former players would also go a long way.
