Liverpool vs Everton: Roberto Firmino had a nightmare, Naby Keita ineffective?
Liverpool took on Everton on Sunday in the Barclays Premier League and won despite several key players putting in average performances.
Roberto Firmino had a bit of a shocker while Naby Keita came off the bench put didn’t offer much, but none of it mattered in the end as Divock Origi headed home a late winner.
Once again the Reds defence held firm as the Toffies tried their best to ruin Liverpool’s unbeaten start to the season.
And while they scored well in the post-match player ratings, those tasked with making life difficult at the other end of the pitch didn’t.

Firmino, in particular, didn’t have a good game and was given a 4/10 by the Liverpool Echo alongside a 3/10 from TalkSPORT. This Is Anfield were slightly more impressed an handed down a 4.5/10.
The Echo thought the Brazilian got slightly better in the second half, but generally got his positioning wrong and lost position in excellent areas too often.
TalkSPORT agreed with this assessment and added that Firmino has been nowhere near the player that Liverpool saw last season. Something to think about for Jurgen Klopp maybe?
Keita also suffered and was given ratings of 6/10, 5/10 and 6/10 as he was substituted on but failed to do anything positive.
The former RB Leipzig midfielder has struggled for minutes this season and his insipid showing probably won’t have done any favours.
One new arrival who had an excellent game was Fabinho, who scored an 8/10 from the Echo but interestingly failed to impressed TIA or TalkSPORT. The Brazilian was strong in the tackle and looks to have formed an impressive relationship with Gini Wijnaldum.
Alisson Becker was tremendous in between the sticks and came away from the fixture with a trio of 8s as all three publications couldn’t get over how good he was. All of them highlighted how good his two first-half saves were, which basically won Liverpool the game.
