This season has been a tale of different campaign as Jurgen Klopp has led his Reds to an unbeaten start while Jose Mourinho inflicts pain and misery at Old Trafford.

After their latest poor performance, a 2-1 defeat against Valencia in the Champions League, the Old Trafford faithful must be asking how much more of this they can take.

The complete contrast to this is Liverpool, who satisfied Anfield with a tense 1-0 win against Napoli on Tuesday that confirmed their progression to the final 16 of the same competition.

It’s a similar story for United in the league. Mourinho has consistently failed to get the best out of his litany of global stars, while the fanbase has fallen in on itself in a whirlwind of infighting and name calling. What a time to be alive.

But as Gini Wijnaldum has reminded us, the Red Devils still posses enough good players to hurt teams who don’t show up – just ask Fulham.

Mourinho’s side are currently sitting in sixth place after seven wins, five draws and four defeats. The regression this campaign has been remarkable, especially when you consider their second place finish last season.

There don’t appear to be a whole load of good omens for United either. Liverpool are undefeated in their last 28 homes games, and have kept a clean sheet in 11 of their 12 fixtures at Anfield.

With a misfiring Manchester attack, Virgil van Dijk should be able to lead his back five to another – even if Joe Gomez and Joel Matip will be missing due to injury.

Sunday will see one of the biggest games in the domestic calendar and it all points towards a Reds win. Make sure you don’t miss it!
