Liverpool vs Wolves: Best prospect slated ahead of Friday clash
Liverpool travel to Wolves on Friday night as they take on the Midlands club at Molineaux – and fans have been slating their best prospect before the game!
Rúben Neves is one of their most highly rated youngsters and Manchester City, Arsenal and Juventus are want to sign the Portuguese starlet in January.
But despite his pedigree and the interest in Neves from clubs higher up the food chain than Wolves, their fans have slated 21-year-old for his performances this season.
The club posted an innocent social media post praising the former Porto man, and Molineaux faithful were quick to jump on the criticism bandwagon.

They kinda have a point, if you’re super critical and run the midfielder’s Championship and Premier League stats side by side. Neves played 42 games last season, scoring six goals and accruing a WhoScored rating of 7.25.
With two top flight goals, one assist and a rating of 6.95 it can be argued that the starlet is down on his levels from last season – but surely some patience has to be shown with the lad.
Stepping up a level is tough for anyone, even if the player comes highly rated. Despite that, Neves has settled into life in the Black Country really quickly and even for Liverpool fans, the Guardian interview he did with Diogo Jota is worth reading.
Classy on the ball, the deep-lying playmaker is a vital part of the way Wolves operate and he’ll almost certainly be a vital player against the Reds on Friday.
Maybe the former Porto man isn’t in top form recently, but class is permanent and fans should get behind their stand out players – even through the rough times.
After Liverpool take on Wolves on Friday, they welcome Newcastle United to Anfield for the final league game of the year. Rafa Benitez will return to Merseyside for the Boxing Day game, and even though it’s Christmas they won’t be giving any gifts away.
