Liverpool vs Wolves: Jurgen Klopp planning for life without Dejan Lovren
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp talked about how he was planning for life without Dejan Lovren ahead of their game against Wolves on Friday night.
The Reds are without defenders Joel Matip, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez for the clash against the newly promoted side – and Klopp has said he’s considering life without Lovren as well.
As well as the senior squad injury list, youngster Nat Phillips is also crook and that doesn’t leave the German with many options should another player be sent to the treatment table.
As it stands, Brazilian midfielder Fabinho could step back into defense – while James Milner has also been asked to play across the back four at various stages of his Anfield career.

Speaking ahead of the Wolves match, the Express reported that Klopp has thought about different personal to maintain his preferred formation. But, the German has also been thinking about playing three in defence in order to compensate for a loss in personal.
"“We don’t really have options. But Fabinho can play at centre-half as well so that’s good,” the manager revealed.Klopp continued: “Phillips is injured as well which is a real shame. We may have to think about other options like three at the back with two midfielders or stuff like that.”"
Lovren hasn’t always enjoyed the best form for Liverpool and recently fell way down the pecking order. But injuries and illness have hampered the Croatian in recent times, especially after World Cup duty.
The former Southampton man is an incredibly frustrating player to watch, because he can be solid gold when on fire. However, when Lovren is having a bad day you really know about it – and title chasing teams can’t really afford that.
This game against Wolves is a massive test for the World Cup finalist. He’ll be playing his sixth game of the season, but it’s only his second in a row since Huddersfield and Cardiff in October.
That performance against Manchester United will give Degs some confidence, and that’s important – because Liverpool need him a lot now.
