Liverpool vs Arsenal: No confidence! Gaffer’s press conference slammed
Liverpool host Arsenal at Anfield on Saturday afternoon and fans have already slammed one manager’s press conference performance.
Gunners boss Unai Emery has been criticized for a perceived lack of confidence as the Spaniard prepares his side for their game against the Reds this weekend. But can you blame him?
When you look at the head-to-head stats, things are stark. Liverpool are in rampant form at Anfield and haven’t tasted defeat there in 30 league games.
On top of that they have kept 12 clean sheets in the last 14 Merseyside games AND have hit the back of the net 2.5 times or more in their last five home games against Arsenal.

Talk about stacks on stacks on stacks.
The Gunners couldn’t even put more than one past Brighton – a game that left Emery so frustrated he belted a water bottle towards home fans and now could face sanctions from the FA.
But what really got to Arsenal fans was his admission that Liverpool could go the season unbeaten, which was perceived as a bizarre lack of confidence in his own side.
To be fair, Emery may also be without six of his defenders as the London club have to deal with their own injury crisis as we slide towards 2019.
The Reds are only one injury away from their own crisis at the back, but so far Dejan Lovren and Virgil van Dijk are holding their own. Trent Alexander-Arnold is back from his own lay-off, but Jurgen Klopp may want to look for January option to replace Alberto Moreno after his latest comments.
Luckily for Klopp and the scouting department, we’ve compiled this handy list of replacements for Moreno. There really are some top, feasible, options in there.
Despite everything, Liverpool will still need to be switched on. Arsenal are a good side who play dangerous football. The title is a real possibility now, but the win train needs to keep on rolling.
