We finally have some good news to report ahead of the Southampton game as Liverpool enjoyed a quiet end to the January transfer window.

The official club website have reported that Divock Origi and Adam Lallana are available for Saturday after there were concerns over the pair’s fitness.

Origi limped off during the victory against West Ham, which sent Liverpool 19 points clear at the top of the Premier League, while Lallana had been suffering from a nasty virus and missed the last three games because of it.

Jurgen Klopp will now have nearly a full squad to chose from as his plots against the Saints after a quiet January transfer window. Takumi Minamino was the only senior arrival, while Rhian Brewster was allowed to leave on loan in order to gain first team experience with Swansea.

Xherdan Shaqiri could have left and there was interest in the Swiss international, but Klopp wanted him to stay an Anfield. However, you wouldn’t be surprise if Shaqiri left in the summer in search of more regular football.

Shaq is one of the three who won’t be available for selection against Southampton. James Milner is also out, while Sadio Mane‘s hamstring hasn’t recovered sufficiently yet.

But Dejan Lovren, Joel Matip, Fabinho and Naby Keita have all made their return over the last few weeks and that gives Liverpool enviable strength in depth on the bench. If Klopp decides to keep the midfield three of Jordan Henderson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Georginio Wijnaldum he will have plenty of game changing options in reserve. Lallana may struggle to get in the match day squad!

You’d expect Origi to take up his place on the left, although Minamino was the preferred replacement when Mane came off against Wolves. Given Klopp’s preference for easing new signings into the side, you’d imagine it’ll be the Belgian who starts on Saturday.
