Liverpool started 2020 as well as they finished 2019 as we saw some amazing individual performances. Here are three players who had an incredible January.

Going into February, Liverpool were 19 points ahead of the chasing pack and that Southampton win has made it 22. Tottenham then beat Manchester City to ensure it would stay that way and give the boys some real breathing space.

Seven games, seven wins and a draw with only three goals conceded. Out of those seven, five were in the Premier League and they were all victories. Alisson had to pick the ball out of his net just once.

The draw and the other two were inflicted by a surprise source: League One Shrewsbury in the FA Cup fourth round. Jurgen Klopp picked a rotated side but there should have been enough quality in the ranks to beat the Shrews.

Only Wolves scored past Liverpool in the league, with 11 goals scored by the Reds. It was a healthy return, but we didn’t really blow anyone away. This was a very workman-like month but it did the job and laid an excellent foundation for us to win the league.

Highlights included that age-defying 1-0 win over Everton in the FA Cup, a 2-0 victory against Manchester United and a highly satisfying 2-1 result against an excellent Wolves.
