Left-back: Andy Robertson

With Kostas Tsimikas MIA, there’s no other option apart from Andy Robertson to take up this position. The Scot is going to burn out if we’re not careful, so the Liverpool medical staff will need to get Tsimikas fit and ready to go.

He wasn’t in the squad for the Ajax game, and hasn’t been heard or spotted much since he arrived and made his debut against Lincoln.

Odd.

Centre-back: Joel Matip

This is a little bit of rotation work with Gomez and Matip. Big Joel sat out of the Champions League game and you have to presume that was in order to get him available for the Blades fixture.

That means Gomez should rotate back in for the FC Midtjylland clash because Klopp is going to have to manage his back four very wisely.

Centre-back: Fabinho

Fabinho had an incredible game against Ajax and had some people, with a bit of tongue in cheek, were suggesting that he was already better than Gomez and up there with van Dijk.

The Brazilian did play incredibly well and will continue in that role.

Right-back: Trent Alexander-Arnold

Neco Williams won’t be involved against Sheffield United, although if Klopp was interested in throwing a curveball here it could work against the Blades.

Sheffield have been blunt moving forward and Williams might be able to play here without much fear of being targeted.

But no, Trent Alexander-Arnold will carry on.
