RB- James Milner

With Trent Alexander-Arnold out, the 34-year-old will most likely get the nod at right-back ahead of the young Neco Williams. Milner started in this position against Leicester and had a pretty decent game, grabbing the assist for Liverpool’s third goal.

Of course he won’t have the kind of impact as Trent but with his experience and work-rate, the former England international could well be useful for the Reds on the right flank. However, there’s still the possibility of Williams starting at right-back.

CB- Joel Matip

With both Virgil van DIjk and Joe Gomez out, the Cameroonian’s presence is needed more than ever. He had a good game against Leicester and wasn’t too bad against Atalanta either.

Matip will undoubtedly start against Brighton and will be looking to put in a solid display at the heart of the defense. The 29-year-old has often proven how efficient he is when fit and he’ll be needed to stay at his fittest in the coming months.

CB – Fabinho

The Brazilian came on as a second-half substitute against Atalanta but will certainly start this weekend alongside Matip. Fabinho has given some pretty good performances for Liverpool at centre-back and will be looking to do the same against Brighton.

Along with keeping the opposition attackers at bay, the 27-year-old could also help the team offensively through his long balls from the back.

LB – Andy Robertson

After being benched against Atalanta, the Scottish international will start in his usual left-back position. Robertson has been Liverpool’s best defender this season through his work at the back and his contributions offensively with three assists.

The 26-year-old will be eager to prevent the Brighton attackers from being much of a threat while also trying to grab an assist or two with his crosses.
