Right-back: Neco Williams (7/10)

Williams had to contend with Adama Traore but he did well, even after picking up an early yellow card. The youngster linked up well with Mohamed Salah and put in a few good blocks as he continued his development with a good 90 minutes.

Centre-back: Fabinho (9/10)

The Brazilian defensive midfielder looks better and better playing as a central defender and he was a monster against Wolves. Fabinho made two excellent clearances from inside the six-yard box and put in a couple of outstanding tackles as well.

It boggles the brain to see how good this man is as a defender. Most Premier League teams don’t have this type of quality from their centre-backs, never mind a DM.

Centre-back: Joel Matip (8/10)

That rest against Brighton did Matip the world of good as he looked fresh and motivated. Keeping the former Schalke man fit is going to be a problem for Klopp to solve this season, but he gave us all a tremendous reminder of his ability on Sunday night.

A goal capped off a superb performance as he was good in the air and on the ground.

Left-back: Andy Robertson (8/10)

Robertson is a complete menace down the left and he linked up with pal Sadio Mane extremely well on a number of occasions. The pair’s understanding is almost telepathic and they continue to worry Premier League defences every time they play together.

The Scot was worried defensively on a few occasions, but handled them well and created a few good chances for the forwards.
