Liverpool are going to have a big summer transfer window, even if things are looking a little bit better in terms of player involvement and form as of late. It’s clear that there is a lot of work that needs to be done, and a lot of it requires Liverpool to sign the players they need.

Much has been said about them wanting a midfielder to fix things, but to be honest, they don’t just need a midfielder. They need more than just that. They need a couple of midfielders, as well as a good centre-back, but it’s not being talked about enough.

They have been linked to many, many midfielders in the last couple of months but now, finally, we have seen them getting linked to defenders! Let’s go!

According to Jacque Talbot, Liverpool’s main centre-back transfer target is Josko Gvardiol, he’s considered a really good player by everyone and Liverpool are no exception.

The report also says, however, that Liverpool think it’s not as likely of a transfer as they would expect, which is why Benfica’s Antonio Silva and Sporting’s Goncalo Inacio are considered more likely options.

Gvardiol would be perfect for Liverpool, which is why they should go all in for him

Gvardiol had a really good World Cup, and has been having great games for Leipzig this season. But, I think the asking price for Gvardiol makes them want to not go for him. Gvardiol is probably the best, or at least the most well-known centre-back prospect in the world.

He has the potential to become an incredible centre-back, but that is also why Leipzig rate him so highly. That is why Leipzig want him to be sold for as much money as they can get for him, because it is difficult to get players like him on the daily.

But, that’s also why I want Liverpool to go for him with all they’ve got. Gvardiol is an exceptional player and would add another dimension to Liveprool’s defense.

His ball playing is elite, and his reading of the game is already world class. I think he would be a fantastic player under Klopp. Yes, he will be pricey, but Liverpool would be better off spending that money.
